The "Duke of Choiseul's Folly"
The "Duke of Choiseul's Folly" or "Friendship monument" was built by the Duke in 1775, after being exiled from the Court of King Louis XV, as a tribute to all his friends who placed their trust in him. Renown for its beauty and surprise factor, this 44 metre high monument, is supported by a 16 column peristyle and 16 pillars. Each of the 7 floors is built in a dome.
