Welcome to the world of wonder of the Mini-Châteaux Park. Our enthusiastic and passionate team invites you to discover our 7 interactive educational workshops. You are the actors of this learning of History and of the various characteristics of the Loire Valley: we have the pleasure to share with you our historical, cultural and artistic universe through a planted park.

Free pre-visit for teachers
Dear teachers, we suggest that you visit the Parc Mini-Châteaux as a "scout": you will discover the tour route in order to familiarise yourself with the different areas. The pre-visit ends with a presentation of our programmes and teaching aids (depending on the availability of our team). This is a valuable step in the preparation of your visit. Prior registration:

  • Cycle 1 - 15 to 20 students

    Attacking the castle

    PROJECT/ Construction as a source of communication.

    Approach: The children will discover communication and their role in a group through the construction and demolition of a castle.

    -Exploration of volumes and sizes

    -Representation of a construction on a different scale

    -Apprehension of the various forms in the creation

    -Interaction and communication, positioning of the child in a group

    -Production of a live show in collaboration and opposition

    -Action in space, time and on objects 

  • Cycle 2 - 15 to 30 students

    Tastes and smells of yesteryear

    PROJECT/ Discovering plants, fruits and vegetables

    Approach: The knowledge of plants has been developed in different historical periods. This workshop allows the association of periods and the plant world.

    -To discover the cycle of time

    -Introduce the different historical periods and their characteristics

     -To explain the cycle of a plant

     -To differentiate the duration of cycles according to species

    -To associate plants, fruits and vegetables with the historical periods of their appearance on French tables

  • Cycle 3 - 15 to 30 students

    From Old French to French

    PROJECT/ Rewriting and discovery of the language of the past for an artistic and literary awakening

    Approach: Relate the language to an era and its culture.

    -To associate a literary text with an era and an artistic work

    -Understand the text and its orthographic, lexical and syntactic characteristics

     -Involve the child in the understanding of a historical period through different artistic media

     -To awaken the pupil's mind to criticism, comparison, reformulation and rewriting

    -To transpose historical works into the current period with its codes

    -The child learns about the evolution of culture and ideas through different media

  • Cycle 3 - 15 to 30 students

    From the Loire to the plate of kings

    PROJECT/ The Loire: the wealth of a territory

    Approach: Throughout the ages, the Loire Valley has evolved to the rhythm of the life of the river and its royal inhabitants.

    -To situate the child in time and geographical space

    -Understand the traces of history; the people at the heart of a territory

     -Understand the evolution of the territory, through its economic and social life: a sign of the wealth of a country

     -The opening up of the Loire Valley to Europe and the world; a contribution of knowledge and diversity

     -The evolution of royal dishes, the result of European and global exchanges

  • Cycle 3 and 4 - 15 to 30 students

    Jewels of the Loire Valley

    PROJECT/ From plan to construction

    Approach: A castle is the result of a construction based on a plan.

    -Understand the link between a plan and a construction, plane geometry at the service of volume

    -Use the notions of scale

     -Understand symmetry and perspective

     -Enhance their technical geometric and architectural vocabulary

     -Find your bearings on a plan and understand space

    -Use mathematical notions to raise the construction

  • Cycle 4 - 15 to 30 students

    Image in power

    PROJECT/ Portrait, advertisement or publicity

    Approach: The image as an object of power, a real political tool of yesterday and today

    -To question what is an image? Its technical characteristics, its message through its creation

     -What is the evolution of images as a communication tool?

     -The use of images by political power through the ages

     -Analyse an image

     -Enrich their technical vocabulary of image composition 

  • Cycle 4 - 15 to 30 students

    Society on the move

    PROJECT/ From feudalism to modern society

    Approach: French society evolved and opened up to the world from the 11th to the 17th century

    -To understand the beginning of the construction of the modern State by the Capetians

    -Develop the societal vocabulary

     -Understand the evolution of territories and migrations

     -To analyse the balance of power between the State and the Church

     -To reflect on the necessary means of population management

    -The evolution of society towards urbanisation brings openness to the world

    -By understanding the challenges of opening up to Europe and the world, understand the richness of these exchanges
